The firm has bought a number of chassis trucks for water tanks.
A construction and heavy lift firm in Abu Dhabi has taken delivery of 154 trucks with a value of US$15m, in spite of the financial crisis.
Al Jaber group is enlarging its fleet for the newly-formed Leasing Services division that deals with trucks and equipment for hire to the logistics industry. The lorries are all from Mercedes-Benz and vary in type and specification.
“The new trucks include the award-winning Actros 3848S tractor head which is capable of pulling tipping trailers, the 2040S tractor head powerful enough for flatbed trailers and a number of chassis trucks suitable for 4000 gallon water tanks, 18 CBM tipping body and 10 CBM concrete mixers,” commented Chris Preston, CEO Al Fahim Automotive Division, the group that owns EMC, the Mercedes-Benz franchise in the emirate.
Mohammed Al Jaber, CEO, Al Jaber Group said, “Since 2007 till date, Al Jaber Group purchased about 400 Mercedes Benz trucks making Al Jaber Group one of the biggest purchasers of Mercedes Benz Products in the region”.
While Al Jaber has a large road haulage fleet, the group has a huge inventory of cranes and construction equipment on its inventory. Comprising of around 10,000 items, the list includes 15 batching plants, 8 crushers and a Terex-Demag CC8800-1 Twin – one of the largest cranes in the world.
