Omran has completed 3 million man hours without any LTIs
Omran has recorded a 50% increase in the completion of man hours without lost time injuries (LTIs) in less than a month, it was announced today.
On August 12, Construction Week reported that Omran had completed 2 million man hours without LTIs during the development of the Asian Beach Games site, Oman. This figure has now increased to 3 million.
“We place great importance on the safety and security of our staff and are delighted to have maintained such a high standard of safety at the Asian Beach Games site,” said Omran CEO Wael Al Lawati.
Work is currently on schedule across all areas of the project and overall marina works are 77% complete with the quay wall, beach steps and slipway virtually finished.

The latest developments come after the Asian Beach Games Steering Committee checked progress on the site, which will host the games in December next year.
“We are very proud to confirm that we are fully on schedule to complete site works on time,” Lawati added.
“This meeting is an excellent demonstration of our commitment to pressing ahead with this crucial project that will become a cherished community in its own right long after 2010.”
Currently 1,800 workers are on the site and this is expected to increase to 2,500 people working across three shifts over the coming months.
The 2nd Asian Beach Games will be held in Muscat, Oman in December 2010 and the project is on track for delivery a month prior to the event.
Omran is also working on projects such as The Fort Hotel, a five-star development planned for the Bausher Mountains near Muscat, as well as the Ritz Carlton, and the Jebel Akhdar luxury hotel and spa development.
