Cityscape forecasts a 20% to 25% drop in the number of visitors expected to attend the Dubai event this year, ConstructionWeekOnline.com can reveal.
Last year 68,000 visitors attended the three day event but this figure could fall to 51,000 this year.
Despite this report, the outlook for the construction and real estate industries remains positive, according to Cityscape managing director Rohan Marwaha.

“I still think, overall, it is still a significant achievement to come out with this percentage drop due to the state of the global real estate market as a whole,” he said.
“There have been a lot of people who have been made redundant in Europe and the US markets, as well as in the Middle East, and this will have an effect on our numbers.”
Marwaha explained that investors, who have been sitting on the fence, are starting to reactivate themselves again.
“They all need to have confidence that Dubai has the strength to grow and I think developers are beginning to believe this now.”
