Youngman managing director Paul Bentley
British scaffolding company Youngman says there is huge potential for its rolling fibreglass scaffolding tower for use in Saudi Arabia’s substantial oil and gas industry.
Speaking to Construction Week at this year’s Saudi Build exhibition in Riyadh, Youngman managing director Paul Bentley said their fibre glass scaffold, called Boss Zone 1, is currently being assessed for use in the oil and gas industry and should be approved sometime next year.
In the meantime, he said the company is placing extra emphasis on promoting the product to the Saudi Arabian market.

“The benefit of glass fibre is that it is non-conductive and there is no static, which is the main benefit concerning use in an electrical industry,” he said.
“Secondly, it can’t create a spark, which is ideal for Zone 1 conditions in the oil and gas industry where flammable material is an issue.
“Currently most of our sales go to the electrical industry, but this will hopefully change when our product becomes the first fibreglass scaffold approved for use in the oil and gas industry. This makes the product quite unique.”
Youngman’s core business is manufacturing aluminium rolling scaffolding towers which they are also promoting at Saudi Build and are distributed in Saudi Arabia through Al Misehal Group.
It is the company’s second year exhibiting at Saudi Build. Youngman distributes to 36 countries throughout the world.
