Lady working in construction
I've been working in construction since 1995, i am a civil engineer and have spent my life at construction sites. Even when i was stakeholder ,general manager of my own company i was supervising each project by myself and spending more than 8 hrs at site. Recently i left my country (IRAQ) and i am working as project manager for SCADIA ( SUPERVISION COMMITTEE FOR ABU DHABI AIRPORT EXPANSION )

Unheard of!! No, it happens more often than most think
I've been working in the construction industry for 18 years now, all in the Middle East and the last twelve in the UAE. I'd say it's possible. Sure, it's a challenge in the UAE especially on construction sites, but I was never the only one - there are many other women. It's a male dominated environment worldwide, the UAE is certainly no exception. But that's what we signed up for when we chose the career - we could have just been teachers or secretaries or worked in the fashion industry, couldn't have we?

Woman on a construction site
That's unheard of here in the UAE isn't it? I've been trying for about 18 months to get into construction or engineering in Dubai but I was told I wouldn't find work because of my gender. I've been working as an electrician for 15 years. I've spent most of my professional career on construction sites in London. I've had to make a career change. I would be very interested to hear from woman on construction sites.

Are you a women working in construction?
Any Qualified and experienced lady can easily work at site for providing site based engineering services for the project as compared to specific site duties related to the execution of the works.
