KEC has won two power transmission line orders in Saudi Arabia
Indian power transmission EPC company KEC International has announced it has won two orders in Saudi Arabia worth a total of US $87 million.
The orders include the includes the surveying, design, engineering, planning, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of a 163km, 380kv transmission line in Riyadh, a 69km, 132 transmission line between two substations and a 37km 33kv line in Najran.
“The order in Saudi Arabia indicates the steady revival of the Middle East market in view of the stabilising crude prices,” said KEC MD and CEO Ramesh Chandak. “KEC is already executing projects in UAE, Oman and Kuwait apart from Saudi Arabia. In Saudi, the company is presently executing three large projects. We are delighted to have won two more orders in that country.”

The Riyadh order is worth $64 million and is from the Saudi Electric Company, while the Ministry of Water and Electricity put in the $23 million order for the Najran projects.
