Grahame McCaig has won the Construction Week Health and Safety Manager of the Year award
Dutco Balfour Beatty general manager Grahame McCaig has won the Construction Week Health and Safety Manager of the Year award.
For the award, the judges were looking for devoted individuals who uphold best practice in the field of health and safety, and have gone above and beyond in terms of communicating the importance of looking after staff and ensuring best practices become common place.
According to the judges, McCaig was chosen “for his commitment to the cause, and for consistently sourcing new ways of improving safety for workers on site.”

These included the introduction of a corporate health and safety manual, the creation of a 5-star audit programme, overseeing the new Dutco Balfour Beatty training and development centre, and work on the Build Safe UAE initiative and Make Safety Personal campaign.
Others shortlisted for the award were Colonel Musharaff Khan of Wade Adams, Shaun Dent of WS Atkins and Ghulam Mustafa from Taahud General Contracting.
