Aldar named Developer of the Year

Aldar has been named Construction Week’s Developer of the Year for its Yas Island development which hosted last week’s Formula One Grand Prix.

Submissions for the award were open to all GCC real estate development firms involved in the construction of residential, commercial or industrial projects.

The judges were asked to focus on build quality, aesthetics, timely delivery and evidence of intelligent master-planning, as well as the incorporation of sustainable construction techniques.

Nominees were asked to submit full details of the project, including primary completion dates for various phases.

Aldar was commended for its “stunning work” on the Formula One circuit.

Runners up included the Bahrain Bay Development for the Bahrain Bay masterplan, Majid Al Futtaim for Sohar City in Oman, TDIC for Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island and ETA Star, for a number of its projects in Dubai.
