Around 200 schools have been redeveloped in Jordan since April last year, it has been announced.
Speaking a the Building Schools Exhibition and Conference, Madrasati director Danah Dajani revealed that the 300 more schools are expected to be reached in the coming years.
Madrasati, led by Queen Rania Al Abdullah, brings together public, private and non-profit partners in an initiative to renovate public schools in urgent need of repair.
According to Dajani, 15% of the 3257 schools in Jordan are considered unsafe.
“We look to try and change this situation by bringing together the local community. We get everyone involved in our projects including parents, teachers and engineers,” she said.
“We want to make education a social responsibility now.”

The initiative now has 72 corporate sponsors involved who have invested their resources into the schools.
Madrasati also has plans to reach schools in Palestine next year.
