Abu Dhabi’s Al Qurm Gardens project has been completed ahead of schedule, Burooj Properties has announced.
Work on the US $136 million (AED500 million) project, which consists of 80 villas and covers 26,477m2, was finished in just under a year.
“We were awarded the AED200 million construction contract in January and we began work in February this year,” Tiger Holding Chairman Waleed Al Zu’aby told ConstructionWeekOnline.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the project site, where a model villa was presented to the media, investors and owners.
“The decision to launch Al Qurm Gardens at the time when the worst of the global financial crisis hit was risky, but at the same time it also proved that through transparent dealings with investors and careful study of market movement, unnecessary risks can be avoided,” said Adel Ahmed Al Zarouni, managing director of Burooj Properties, the client for the development.

Al Qurm Gardens is located near Al Bateen Airport and consists of a playing field, a health club and a swimming pool.
Each of the three-storey villas cost $1.4 million and include five bedrooms and a study.
