Metito, the international desalination, water and wastewater treatment company, has signed a turnkey project with Palm Water for the financing, construction and operation of a temporary wastewater treatment plant at International City, Dubai.
The plant will serve the growing population of International City. Designed by Metito, it will have a capacity of 5,000m3/day and will include three streams to treat the raw sewage using an extended aeration activated sludge process.
The plant is scheduled for delivery in the early second quarter of 2007.
Metito was also the focus of investor attention at the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) conference in February, when it highlighted its long-term strategy to develop large water projects in the Emirate. The firm stressed the relationship between the supply of fresh water and economic growth within the region and highlighted the economic importance of public-private partnerships.
