Gypsum plasterboard manufacturer Gypsemna has received ISO 9001 certification only six months after starting operations in Abu Dhabi, according to a company statement.

Gypsemna was launched by the UAE’s Jamal Al Ghurair Group and commissioned its gypsum plasterboard plant in June.

The plant can produce 50 million square metres per annum and is the largest operational plant in the Middle East.
The statement said the company now has a “sizeable” share of the UAE market and has also entered into neighbouring markets such as Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Iran and the Indian sub-continent.

“Gypsemna has been able to establish its products in a highly competitive market, as world-class products, so long dominated by leading international brands, having received widespread acceptance in the markets it has already reached,” it said.

“Most of the Plasterboard products consumed in the region have hitherto been imported. In the coming year, Gypsemna plans to extend its market coverage to many other areas.”
