The world’s tallest hotel has been opened in Dubai, following Monday’s inauguration of the Burj Khalifa.
Rose Rayhaan, a US $180 million development owned by Abu Dhabi-based Rotana, stands at 72 storeys and 333 metres high.
"Rotana will be operating 11 hotels in Dubai, with two more scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2010, which will add 547 rooms to Rotana's inventory in Dubai,” said Rotana senior vice president Omer Kaddouri.
Arabian Contracting Company completed construction of the hotel in 2008 after four years of work, but to secure all the licensing necessary to open the hotel took some time, according to Bonyan International Investment, the developer on the project.
Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, close to the Dubai Mall, the Rose Rayhaan offers 482 rooms, suites and penthouses, restaurants, business facilities and a fitness centre.
Khatib & Alami Group was the architect for the project.
