Abu Soud: Confident new water & power division will bring in a lot of business.
Drake and Scull International (DSI) has won two contracts worth US $49.4 million (AED181.4 million) in total.
Rotana has awarded the company a $17.4 million contract to supply MEP works for the Centro Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
The construction of the 27-floor hotel has already started and is projected to be completed within 22 months.
“Last year was a challenging year economically for most industries, so we are extremely pleased that our hard work and efforts have brought us the good fortune of acquiring the trust of our clients to work with us,” said DSI vice chairman and CEO Khaldoun Tabari.
Meanwhile, DSI’s newly established company, Drake & Scull Water and Power (DSWP), has won a $32 million contract to develop a 20,000 tonne chiller plant and two thermal storage tanks for Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa City.
“The establishment of DSWP is a catalyst for providing a stronger focus on the utilities sector, which has always been a successful market for DSI,” said DSWP executive director Tawfiq Abu Soud.
“With 40 years of experience behind us and a reputable name in the industry, we are confident that DSWP will take our position in the market to even greater heights.”
