LG Electronics Air Conditioning of Korea has set an ambitious sales target of US$10 billion by 2013.
This move comes together with a process of reorganisation announced at its yearly media event in Seoul, Korea. New marketing schemes in support of this have also been announced.
In order to achieve the goal of getting to and maintaining worldwide leadership in heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and energy systems and technology, the company will restructure its organisational framework, resulting in an increased focus on residential and commercial air-conditioning, household management technology, building running solutions and solar cells.
LG AC will expand its environment-friendly brand image by manufacturing highly-efficient systems and minimising the use of several substances that do not meet its strict environmental standards. Additionally, the company also intends to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 28 million tons by developing an array of highly-efficient inverters aimed at Korean, North American and European markets by 2013.
Furthermore, the company pledges to enhance the use of eco-friendly refrigerants (R-410A) from 10 % to about 55% of its air conditioners by 2012.
