Alarm systems and CCTV sales are on the rise in the GCC.
The security industry in the Arabian Gulf is worth AED 3.6 billion a year, and is projected to grow at 10% a year, according to Victoria Lee, senior show manager, Intersec.
Intersec, underway in Dubai this week, is the largest security and safety event in MENA.
“The Arabian Gulf is one of the most exciting markets in the world for the security industry,” said Lee.
“It is projected that, within the next few years, more than 60,000 buildings and assets in Dubai will be fully installed with direct alarm systems. Alarm system installation will be a mandatory requirement by law, to ensure and enhance the safety of the city.”
Demand for sophisticated CCTV systems is also growing at a rapid pace.
“This is evidenced by the Dubai Metro’s 3000 CCTV cameras installed to monitor the 74km of rail tracks and 29 stations. CCTV is a crucial element in securing buildings, banks, ports and airports,” explained Lee.
