Laying down the law: Bahrain toughens up its construction standards.
Halcrow has completed a revision of the Bahrain Ministry of Works' standard construction specifications.
The specifications provide a single reference document for the design and construction of buildings, infrastructure and other civil engineering projects.
The new construction requirements, which have now been published and are ready for implementation, are arranged into 21 modules covering all aspects of construction, from concrete and earthworks to roofing, landscaping and shoreline protection.
“This has been a long and complex project and we are extremely pleased with the final product. We hope this document may also have a regional application in the future,” said Halcrow project director David Pocock.
Halcrow was responsible for all aspects of the consultancy service of this project under the direction of the official steering committee and client, the Ministry of Works.
