A multilingual booklet ‘The Worker: Rights and Duties’ was released yesterday by the Office of the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

The book will be issued in six languages -- Arabic, English, Tagalog, Persian, Chinese and Urdu -- and will be distributed to all federal government departments, concerned NGOs, labour accommodations, and media outlets.

According to Lt. Colonel Salah Al Gul, director of office of culture of respect for law, the booklet explains the rights and responsibilities of the worker, and is intended to help them stay, “under the umbrella of the law.”

In a statement issued by WAM, the official UAE press agency, Al Gul reiterated the UAE’s concern for workers' rights.
