Zaha Hadid to exhibit work in Bahrain

Architect Zaha Hadid will host an exhibition of her practice’s design work at the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research, in Bahrain, in March.

The exhibition will ‘presents her practice’s continued exploration and research towards a new architectural language’. The works are influenced by advances in computer aided design technology, as well as improvements in fabrication technologies.

The works will be showcased in the Bin Matar House, one of the traditional Bahraini houses restored by the Shaikh Ebrahim Center. Works on display will include Lotus, a large-scale concept that integrates furniture and architecture, designed for the 2008 Venice Architecture Biennale, and the Crevasse Vases, a set of vases designed for the Italian company Alessi.

Zaha Hadid – Fluidity & Design will run from 15 March – 30 April 2010.
