Phase one of Abu Dhabi’s Bawabat Al Sharq is progressing on schedule, with 60% of construction works now complete, Baniyas Investment and Development Company has announced.
The first stage of the US $816.7 million (AED3 billion) mixed used development, which is due to be completed in December, comprises 164 apartments, 56 villas and a mall spread across nearly 70,000m2.
“The substantial progress we are witnessing on the project is in line with our strategy of adhering to strict time frames while ensuring that we deliver quality,” said Wael Tawil, CEO of Baniyas Investment, the developer on the project.
“Recently, we proudly announced the successful completion of our new Baniyas Sports Club Stadium in Al Shamkha, which was built in a record breaking six months’ time. We aim to continue working with the same commitment and efficiency to complete and deliver Phase I of our project by year end.”
Target Engineering Construction Company is the main contractor for phase one of the project, while Cansult Maunsell/AECOM is the landscaping design contractor.
