Qatar’s first building sustainability event will be held in Doha next month, organisers have announced.
Doha Green and Sustainability Summit (DGSS) will bring together local, regional and international speakers to discuss green economics.
"This summit is a great step towards raising awareness on the importance of green architecture and development which is a main focus for Dohaland," said Imad Nached, marketing director of Dohaland, one of the event's lead sponsors.
"By sponsoring this event, we hope to engage Qatar's future decision makers to help create an environment that will enhance and contribute to the country's social dynamism whilst maintaining its cultural heritage and quality of life."
Taking place on April 11, the summit will be a platform for companies, communities and individuals to learn and find sustainable solutions for the environment.
"DGSS is keen to engage as many entities as possible from Qatar and from the community,” said DGSS Working Committee member Ravi Raman.
“Dohaland is one of the largest developers in this country and having them sign as a partner is a key milestone for the event and demonstrates the commitment of key developers to engage in sustainable and green practices in Qatar."
