Dewa signs power, water contracts worth millions

Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has signed six new contracts for power and water projects.

The works will be aimed at improving DEWA’s infrastructure network and were signed by DEWA CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer and representatives of the contracting companies.

AAB Industries won a contract to supply, install, test and commission three 132/11 KV substations in Dubai, worth AED 250 million.

Areva T&D won a similar, but larger, contract to supply, install, test and commission three 132/11 KV Substations in various locations in Dubai Investment Park, Jebel Ali, Mutina , Kifaf and elsewhere, worth just over AED 1 billion.

Ducab will be supplying 800km’s worth of 11 KV XLPE power cables, to a value of AED 260 million.

Ghantoot Gulf Contracting will supply, install, test and commission glass-reinforced epoxy water transmission pipelines and associated works at various locations in the emirate of Dubai. The value of the work is AED 820 million.

M/S Saudi Modern (Riyadh cables) will do AED 300 million worth of work to supply, install, test and commission 132 KV cables to 132/11 KV substations.

Siemens will supply, install, test and commission Mamzer Beach 400/132 KV substations, at a cost of AED 470 million.
