In a statement, HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, president of SCTA, said that SCTA was also currently carrying out a comprehensive development and rehabilitation program at all national museums in the Kingdom.

In addition to these four provincial museums, seven other museums will be established throughout the kingdom.

SCTA is working to establish two specialised museums – a museum for Islamic and National Heritage in Jeddah city and a museum of the Holy Quran in Al Madinah, which will be executed in collaboration with the Ministry for Islamic Affairs, Endowment, Dawa, and Guidance, SCTA and Al Madinah Amara.

The SCTA has also issued licenses for 40 private museums to be constructed.

Earlier this week, SCTA also signed an $8 million construction contract to establish an Asir local museum in Abha city, which will be implemented in two years.
