Air conditioning is one of the biggest influences on a building’s design and its resulting operating costs. Getting a system’s design and installation right can keep operating costs down and is essential in the demanding environment of the Middle East.

United Technical Services formed a joint venture with Carrier in the UAE back in 1983 with the objective of distributing and servicing Carrier air-conditioning systems. The company has divided itself into business units that deal with specific sectors of the market.

For instance, its Commercial Systems Business Unit handles Carrier’s chillers, packages and ducted splits (over 5 tonnes) for medium to large size buildings. The brand’s presence in the market is given a boost by the service business unit, which has invested in man-power, technology and training.
