Construction Products Holding Company, (CPC) had the privilege to supply construction materials to King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST), located north of Jeddah.

Dr. Faysal Alaquil, CPC’s director of Business Development and Administration Affairs told Construction Week: “CPC is proud to be the extended industrial arm of the Saudi Binladin Group, and through CPC’s subsidiaries, major works took place at KAUST.”

These works included United Arab Aluminum Company, a subsidiary of CPC, signing a SR 120 million contract to supply and install aluminum and glass facades at KAUST, which was completed within just nine months, a record time according to Saudi Aramco’s schedule.

PREMCO Ready-Mix Co. another subsidiary of CPC also supplied 200,000 m3 of concrete worth SR 52 million to KAUST. In order to accommodate to the increase of project demands, Premco Ready-Mix recently purchased new and advanced equipment worth SR285 million.

The new equipment included a modern concrete treatment plant, mobile concrete mixers, crushers, concrete pumps, trucks and transport vehicles.

In addition Saudi Company for Development of Construction and Trading, the interior and exterior finishing and decoration factories of CPC, signed a contract worth SR150 million for internal and external finishing works throughout KAUST.

Dr. Alaquil said: “CPC trains Saudi engineers and technicians at its factories and training centers to prepare them for various management and operation jobs, thus creating more job opportunities for Saudis to cope with the renaissance in all areas of Saudi Arabia.”

None of the above works and logistics could have been possible without CPC’s WARED transportation Company.

Dr. Alaquil commented: “Our contribution to KAUST was of great significance to us considering the importance of the establishment of such an advanced educational institution. CPC is not only a name for today…. But a source responsible for all the needs of construction materials.”
