Oman’s Ministry of Finance has approved eight new projects totalling OMR50.5m (AED481m), including the construction and expansion of a gas production facility at Salalah in the south of the country.
The gas facility project has a budget of OMR19m and is expected to be ready in three years time, while a new court complex in Rustaq, Western Hajar – another of the eight projects – has a budget of almost OMR10m and should be ready in a year’s time.
Funds for the other projects include OMR6.4m towards building technical support for teaching staff at Muscat’s College of Technology; the construction of a building for the college of sciences at Sultan Qaboos University at OMR3.5m and building the Hubra and Al Lagal school in the wilayat of Wadi Al Maawel at OMR858,000.
The ministry has also set aside funds for a school in Al Qoof, Salalah and tourist sites in Al Jabal Al Akhdar.
