Bloom Properties, the property and lifestyle development arm of National Holding, has started work on its flagship Bloom Central project in Abu Dhabi.

Enabling works for the mixed-use project, which will see a 25-storey tower housing a 315-key five-star business hotel, 64 serviced apartments and 49 two-three bedroom residences plus 7,000m2 of office space built in the city, has been started by the Middle East Foundations Group.

The Group was selected for the project through its work on the Burj Khalifa and other high-profile projects with several key UAE construction firms.

Enabling works are scheduled for completion in Q1 2011.

Bloom, meanwhile, continues work on its 123-residential unit Bloom Gardens gated community on Abu Dhabi’s Eastern Mangrove Corniche. Phase 1 of the development includes a mix of 3-5 bedroom semi-detached and detached villas, town houses and the Brighton College School which will be managed by Bloom Properties. Ground breaking at the Bloom Gardens site took place in April, and Phase 1 work is due for completion in Q3 2011.
