Government entities in Dubai came together last week to discuss the installation and maintenance of industrial flooring in warehouses across the emirate.
Over 170 delegates from the Ministry of Public Works, RTA, DEWA and Dubai Airport Fee Zone attended the Complete Concrete Flooring Solutions Seminar, which addressed how the sustainability of concrete flooring systems is vital to reduce waste and cost.
"The co-operation between UAE Society of Engineers, universities, government organisations and authorities, works departments of municipalities and the industry is vitally important for the sustainable development of the UAE construction sector," said Fars Al Mazrooei Contracting floor division manager Mehmet Ozlokmaci.

The seminar provided delegates with a look into emerging technologies in the concrete flooring field and industry experts from across Europe provided insights into right design approaches for industrial floors following international standards and guidelines, with examples given from Europe and USA.
“We are witnessing big developments and progress in the UAE construction industry, so this seminar was an ideal platform to bring industry experts together to meet, discuss and learn about the latest techniques and business issues," added UAE Society of Engineers board member Abdalla Yousef Al Ali.
Some of the biggest challenges facing the flooring sector at the moment include the need to minimise the environmental impact of concrete flooring, alongside the importance of ensuring fast, effective service delivery to maintain competitive advantage in line with industry growth.
