Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) has signed an agreement with Emirates Recycling to study and evaluate recycled construction waste.
The study, which will take seven months to complete, aims to help find permanent areas where recycled aggregate can be put to good use.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Hawa Abdulla Bastaki, director of DCL department of Dubai Municipality said different samples of recycled rubble will be taken for physical, chemical and mechanical tests according to the approved standard methods of testing.
"In the light of the results of these tests we will assess the possibility of using recycled product in layers, concrete and bricks,” she said.
