The Metris Wave Curve kitchen is the winner of the prestigious 2010 Grand Designs exhibition Best Kitchen award in the UK.
The best kitchen category included both modular and bespoke design entries. The appeal of the Wave Curve is that it offers the feel of a bespoke product, but is in fact created from a modular 1,200mm curved system. This ensures that Wave Curve is both versatile and affordable.
Over 500 entries were received across Grand Designs’ 12 home and product categories. A high-profile panel of judges included Sebastian Conran, Wayne Hemingway, George Clark, Jackie Daly, Clarissa Hulse, Orla Kiely and Robin Levien. Shortlisted finalists in the kitchen category were Philippe Starck, Poliform, Arclinea, Binova and Alno.

“To be ranked alongside such formidable competition was an honour in itself but for the Metris Wave Curve to win overall is simply overwhelming. It's less than a year since the Metris brand was launched, so such recognition is incredibly rewarding. It's testament to all the hard work, expertise and dedication of the team behind the collection and we should all be very proud of this remarkable achievement,” said Paul Dorrington, head of sales and marketing for Under One Roof, the exclusive Metris kitchen dealer in the UAE.
The Grand Designs Award marks a hat trick of accolades for Metris, coming hot on the heels of the Homebuilding & Renovating best kitchen innovation award and The Designer magazine's gold award for product innovation.
