Ege achieves Achilles accreditation

Ege, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of wall-to-wall carpets, tiles and rugs, has achieved Achilles accreditation.
The company made a first time straight pass to receive the accreditation, which only happens to 25% of the 850 manufacturers that apply for it. The Achilles Group works globally to identify, qualify, evaluate and monitor suppliers on behalf of major organisations worldwide.
The aim is to build and support buyer-supplier communities in various industry sectors, creating powerful global networks. The audit for sustainable procurement helps create opportunities for business and reduce risk in the supply chain.
“The Achilles accreditation is important for Ege”, said Jan Ladefoged, quality and environmental manager, Ege. “The investment and risks involved in construction procurement force the building consultants and construction companies to set higher demand standards of performance across the whole project’s lifecycle.
“They are looking for supplier pre-qualification and validation of health, safety and environmental practices along with performance measurements. Now they can get it all from just one certificate. That is a great advantage!”
