Construction starts on new Dubai police building

Dubai Municipality has begun construction on a new public reception building for Dubai Police in Al Tawar-1 area.

The building, has a total area of 800m2, is being built on the north-eastern side of the existing Dubai Police Headquarters overlooking Al Nahda Road, according to an official statement released on Sunday.

The project is being carried out by the municipality’s General Projects Department.

"Dubai Municipality has committed itself to provide all basic services required and apply the highest standards of security and safety in executing the project. About 5 percent of the work on the project is done so far and the work is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2011," said Engineer Mohammed Mashroom, director of General Projects Department.

The project consists of a main reception with waiting room, visitor and administrative offices as well as facilities and a security room, the statement said.
