A consortium of Saudi Tabreed and SNC Lavalin-Canada has clinched a contract with the Rayadah Investment Company for a 100,000 TR district cooling system for the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh.
This is believed to be the Kingdom’s largest such plant to date.
The project will be implemented in two phases of 50,000 TR each. The first phase will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2011, while the second phase will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2012.

Saudi Tabreed recently signed a similar contract to develop a 32,000 TR district cooling system for Saudi Aramco to serve its premises in Dhahran. The company is currently working to develop similar projects in Medina, Jeddah and Makkah.
“The company is proud to participate in the infrastructure works for KAFD, which is one of the most important and strategic projects in the Kingdom,” said Saudi Tabreed chairman HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Abu Nayyan.
