Lifetime Achievement Award (editorial selection: no entries)
The Construction Week editorial team will present the lifetime achievement award to an individual who stands out in the industry. The winner will be able to demonstrate a long and successful career, full of significant milestones, plus a consistent contribution to the development of one or more organisations.
Construction Executive of the Year
The award for Construction Executive of the Year will go to the senior executive who can demonstrate the greatest impact on his or her construction-related business in the 12-month period before 12th September 2012. The winning executive could be a general manager, managing director, related deputy, or someone from a ‘C’ suite role. Their company may be operating in any part of the construction chain, from suppliers through sub-contractors, consultants and main contractors.
Entries for the Construction Executive of the Year should answer the following questions in a total of no more than 500 words:
- How has the executive demonstrated their leadership ability?
- How has the executive contributed to their company’s financial success?
- What has the executive done to boost operational performance?
- What has the executive done to manage their own professional development?

Engineer of the Year
The award for Engineer of the Year will go to the engineer who can demonstrate the greatest impact on his or her construction-related business in the 12-month period before 12th September 2012. The winning engineer could be working in any part of the construction chain, from suppliers through sub-contractors, consultants and main contractors.
Entries for the Engineer of the Year should answer the following questions in a total of no more than 500 words:
- How has the engineer demonstrated their technical ability?
- How has the engineer contributed to the success of their company’s projects?
- How has the engineer passed on their knowledge to less experienced colleagues?

Project Manager of the Year
The award for Project Manager of the Year will go to the project manager who can demonstrate the greatest impact on a project or projects in the 12-month period before 12th September 2012.

Contractor of the Year
The award for Contractor of the Year will go to the company that can demonstrate the best record of progress and delivery for its clients, while maintaining an exemplary HSE record and showing signs of commercial strength and growth over the 12-month period before 12th September 2012.

The winning entry will be drawn from companies that contribute to the structural completion of building or infrastructure projects.

The winning initiative will make a positive contribution to the advance of environmental considerations in construction, while also demonstrating clear practical applications. The sustainability initiative must have been active in the GCC in the 12 months prior to 12th September 2012.
Entries for the Construction Sustainability Award should answer the following questions in a total of no more than 500 words:
- What is the sustainability initiative?
- How has the sustainability initiative contributed to improving the GCC construction industry?
- How is the impact of the sustainability initiative measured?

The health and safety initiative must have been active in the before 12th September 2012.

The award for Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year will go to the company, operating in the construction sector, which can demonstrate the best active CSR programme, one that contributes to the welfare of local communities, to the development of the company’s employees and the enhancement of the company’s reputation. The CSR initiative must have been active in Oman in the 12 months prior to 12th September 2012.
Entries for the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year should answer the following questions in a total of no more than 500 words:
- What is the CSR initiative?
- How has the initiative contributed to the welfare of the wider community?
- How has the initiative contributed to the development of the company’s employees?
