Position Description
Saudi Aramco seeks an experienced Survey Specialist to join its Project Management team. The Project Management Organization designs and constructs numerous multi-billion dollar mega-projects as well as many other oil and gas projects. Some of these mega-projects include the Shaybah NGL Program, the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, the Wasit Gas Program, the Manifa Gas Program, the Karan Program and the Ras Tanura Refinery Expansion Project.
Project Management manages and executes projects from multiple offices geographically scattered throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Minimum Requirements
B.S. degree in Surveying, Photogrammetry, Geodesy, or related technical field plus post-graduate participation in technical seminars.
Experience: A minimum of 10 to 12 years (M.S. degree) experience in Survey Engineering, including at least five years as a specialist in-charge of technical projects in his discipline.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides expert advice and assistance to proponent organizations and Survey Engineers on all matters pertaining to the incumbent expertise.
Acts as Saudi Aramco's representative in dealings with the Saudi Arabian Government representatives relating to his area of expertise and with vendors and manufacturers.
Reviews existing operations within his/her area of expertise to determine potential technical problems and remedies to existing problems.
Undertakes studies and investigations to resolve problems unique to the operating environment within incumbent field of expertise.
Prepares standards and specifications to be used for procurement of new and replacement equipment in line with increases in technological advances, applicability, and operating requirements.
Prepares operating guidelines and standard procedures and other documentation for use by Survey Engineers and technicians in the solution of complex and unusual problems in the field.
Keeps abreast of significant developments in {his/her} specialty by constant review of technical literature, contacts with manufacturing companies, software companies, other major surveying companies, and professional associations.
Conducts seminars in the resolution of technical problems and application of corrective action with personnel in Operations Services, Saudi Arabian Government Representatives and Contractors.
Evaluates the capabilities of surveying Contractors providing specialized services and determines their acceptability to provide services for Saudi Aramco.
Promotes technical advancement in Saudi Aramco's surveying Contractors.
Performs cost analysis and value surveying studies as appropriate.
