Position Duties / Responsibilities
SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

Job Purpose
• Provide service in accordance with client’s requests and contract specifications
• Organize projects and implement appropriate techniques
• Establish and maintain long term relations with clients and business partners

 Duties Include
• Supervise and perform engineering analysis and reporting
• Provide management support during project preparation
• Initiate and assist in developing improved investigation and analysis methods
• Provide analysis support to both junior and senior staff
• Assist professional development of more junior staff
• Review analysis and reports from other experienced Engineers
• Coach engineers and geologists collaborating in the department on all technical matters.
• Review of tests processing, logging and calculations.
• Conduct his/her own reporting and review other engineers’ reports.
• Liaise with clients and ensure positive relationship maintained.
• Integrate expertise from other Fugro OPCOs in coordination with the Lead Engineer and/ore Engineering Manager.
• Keep up to date on new technical resources and transfer his/her knowledge.
• Find solutions in coordination with the Lead Engineer (or Engineering Manager) for all problems faced or anticipated during a project.
• Control quality of works during a project.
• Prepare invoices, chase payments and keep healthy economy of a project.

Qualification & Experience Required
• Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering degree
• Minimum 6 years experience in the geotechnical field
• 2-5 years relative experience in reporting and technical analysis ('number crunching')
• Experience in a Geotechnical Company is a definite advantage
• Knowledge in project management, client liaison and engineering reporting
• Familiar with at least one computational geotechnics package and in all excel in-house computational spreadsheets.
• Communication capabilities: this asset is a must for team leadership as well as professional transfer of information
• International focus: team is multi-national and multi-cultural
• Ability to communicate in English (fluent in speech and writing)
• Good health (medical examination obligatory), in view of field project
