Position Description
We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join the Ras Tanura Technical Support Division within our Northern Area Technical Support Department.
Minimum Requirements
- As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors degree in engineering from a recognized and approved program.
- You will have seven years work experience, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry.
- A thorough knowledge of English is required to perform analyses and studies in depth, make professional presentations and keep up with technical advancements.
- You must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, and design details.
- You will have practical experience with ABB, Powell, General Electric, Westinghouse, Cutler-Hammer, and Siemens switchgears and control gear. Experience with GE AKD5, 6, 8 switchgear and Micro Versa Trip relaying, variable frequency drives, Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP), National Electric Code (NEC) is also required as is experience with Cyberex, Gutor and industrial grade UPS systems.
- A good knowledge of all applicable Standards and Codes related to oil and gas facilities is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
- Prepare approvals of the problem solving report plans, schedules and provide coordination and work direction as required for the preparation of designs, processes, reports, correspondence and related data and assures the efficiency, adequacy and conformance to overall objectives of project.
- Formulate the basis for an engineering study or project or design in any basic or special engineering field by analyzing and evaluating all data pertinent to assignment. Evaluate data as to scope, effect on existing installation, economic value, long range planning and budgetary considerations.
- Lead and recommend new continuous improvement solutions for installations or modifications to improve existing facilities and standardization within specific fields of endeavor. Estimate costs, prepares justifications and completes expenditure requests as required.
- Support project execution and project proposals and initiate detailed work outlines and make decisions as to basic processes, and/or equipment. Perform work and or delegate work to other engineers and final development of specialized or technical proposals and studies of proposed projects.
- Discuss, coordinate and resolve problems with personnel throughout Aramco and subsidiaries and with outside of company organizations. Act as technical consultant when required.
- Review the work of other engineers. Check that reports are written according to established methods of good report presentation. Make recommendations for future study or report changes. Approve reports for transmittal to supervisor. Review work of third party, technology reports and engineering standards.
- Lead the implementation and operation of all kinds of recommended solutions.
