Upstream Operations, Professional Development Advisor
Position Description
We are seeking an experienced petroleum engineering professional to join our Upstream Professional Development Center (UPDC).
UPDC oversees a development program for upstream exploration and producing technical staff. The program includes formal classroom training and self study - all integrated with work assignments, process and technology simulators, mentored support, and communities of practice. The program is intended to meet the needs of all technical staff, from new hire through to retirement.
Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors degree in engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
You will have a minimum of nine years experience in a petroleum engineering discipline.
You will be fluent in spoken and written English.
Experience in teaching and mentoring is highly recommended.
You will be able to demonstrate a passion for new and better ways to develop technical talent for exploration and producing operations.
Duties & Responsibilities You will be required to perform the following:
Lead one or more UPDC job family training initiatives. The initial focus will be the development of the job family curriculum.
Develop an implementation plan including resource requirements, contract specifications, project and financial stewardship.
Participate in the design and development of courses that make up the job family curriculum.
Act as the technical interface between the line organization and the UPDC training organization.
Recommend changes in the skill maps for your job family to ensure the following are adequately defined: technical depth and breadth, integrated workflows, processes and best practices, non-technical skills.
Advise on the management of the job family curriculum including as recommend instructors, develop updates to the curriculum and competency maps to reflect new technology and changing business needs.
Ensure new technologies are incorporated into the curriculum.
Recommend additions to the curriculum to close skill gaps and to ensure that Saudi Aramco examples and best practices are emphasized.
Ensure appropriate level of cross-discipline technology and training is identified and incorporated into the curriculum.
Ensure the structure of the curriculum satisfies the pace, depth and breadth required by the job family.
Audit courses to ensure standards are met.
Recommend changes to remove obsolete components or fill skill gaps.
Endorse design of new courses.
Ensure effective integration of formal training with mentored work assignments and self-study. Where appropriate, coordinates technical training with work assignments within the job family.
Represents the UPDC in technical discussions with stakeholder representatives.
Be available as a course coordinator or instructor as appropriate.
