Field Operations / Maintenance Representative

Position Description
Saudi Aramco's Gas Operations Admin Area seeks a Field Operations and Maintenance Representative to work with the Planning & Technical Support group (P&TSG). Successful candidate will provide ongoing, regular support to assigned operational area to assist with implementation of Saudi Aramco Safety Management System and in meeting safety objectives and expectations.

P&TSG is required to support ongoing safety programs and initiatives that enable Gas Operations to meet and fully implement the corporate safety management system and improve the overall safety performance.

Minimum Requirements
Requires a bachelor's Degree in Engineering (such as Chemical, Fire Protection, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental), Business Administration, Accounting, or Financial Management, advanced degree preferred .

Minimum of 10 years experience as safety /loss prevention engineer preferably with international/multinational companies in hydrocarbon, onshore/offshore Oil & Gas facilities, oil refineries, and/or manufacturing. Process design experience is an advantage.

This experience should include areas such as: accident prevention, fire prevention, health physics, hazardous materials, qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, process safety or accident investigation.

Knowledge of loss prevention engineering practices, fire & safety codes, standards and specifications such as NFPA, OSHA, EPA, API and COMAH. QA Procedures and ISO 9001, Environmental rules and regulations and ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 are essential.

Knowledge and use of specific softwares such as PIPENET Sprinkler/Spray module, PHA-PRO-7, Shell FRED, PHAST for Gas Dispersion or similar. Knowledge in PHAST Risk (previously SAFETI) for QRA studies, RAMP for reliability studies, Fault Tree++ are desirable.

Membership in ASSE and certifications in CSP, CIH, CHMM, CHCM, ALCM or ARM in more than one area are preferred.

Proven ability to communicate in technical English with science and engineering peers as well as Division Heads, Department Heads and Admin Area Heads.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform field work/inspections and work with gas plants to identify safety concerns, formulate solutions, and develop practical and cost effective corrective recommendations.
- Assist plants in developing and evaluating the effectiveness of safety processes in their organization.
- Identify hazards and evaluate potential losses through inspection, engineering and loss data analysis, or through other analytical techniques. Develop recommendations and solutions for mitigating or eliminating potential losses and identified hazards.
- Undertake studies or other assigned tasks related to safety management or loss/fire prevention engineering.
- Participate in various safety studies/activities, e.g., PHAs, HAZOPs, HAZID, SIL, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews or insurance surveys. Lead or participate in quantitative risk studies or conduct consequence analyses.
- Develop update and formalize safety processes. Candidate will be able to develop PHSE Plan, PHSER, SIMOP, Loss Prevention Philosophy, Firefighting system design.
- Review designs for new projects and upgrades of existing facilities for compliance with company safety standards and good industry practices. Assist with monitoring construction/project activities and provide input/approval to certify facility mechanical completion prior to startup.
- Review building drawings to identify safety requirements based on company approved building standards and codes.
- Assist in developing emergency response plans, conducting drills, and improving response capabilities.
- Assist in implementing incident investigation process and in properly reporting and investigating all injuries and incidents.
