We are currently seeking an experienced Cable and Overhead Power Line Specialist to join the Power Systems Department in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidate will provide highly specialized engineering expertise in support of field Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for all types of power cables, submarine cables and overhead lines serving mega-industrial facilities (Refineries, gas and oil processing plants, and power plants). You will be recognized as a technical leading authority in transmission lines and cables and in the HV systems engineering discipline.

Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Masters is preferred.

Candidates will have a minimum of 15 years field experience in cable (including submarine cables) and overhead power line operation, maintenance and design.

Comprehensive experience in cable condition assessment technologies and cable fault locating techniques and cable repairs is required

Duties & Responsibilities
•Conduct power line and cable sizing calculations, insulator design and grounding.
•Prepare and review design packages for overhead power lines and cable circuits.
•Support project commissioning and evaluate test results for cables and overhead circuits.
•Provide necessary support for cable fault locating and repair.
•Develop maintenance instructions and best practices for cables and overhead power lines’ inspection and maintenance.
•Develop condition assessment best practices for cables and overhead lines.
•Review and update cable and overhead lines’ standards.
•Review cable and overhead power lines’ design packages for major projects.
•Conduct cable and overhead lines’ network reliability studies.
•Lead power cable and overhead lines’ incidents investigation teams.
•Represent Saudi Aramco to investigate failure with vendors.
•Evaluate the qualification of manufacturers.
•Evaluate factory acceptance testing (FAT).
•Lead condition assessment for cables and overhead lines.
•Update C-map for cables and overhead lines’ specialty.
•Mentor young and junior engineers through talent management programs.
•Conduct courses for engineers and technicians.
