Ashrae focused its retrofitting efforts on key areas, such as energy use; heat island reduction; water efficient landscaping; material reuse and water use reduction. Ashrae achieved its goals while retaining more than 75% of the existing building structure. By installing low-flow fixtures, annual water consumption has been reduced by an estimated 50%.
