| Scope | | | Dubai Pearl will be a fully integrated, mixed-use sustainable living city which heralds a new era of development in Dubai, located in the heart of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone, overlooking Palm Jumeirah. The development will comprise four iconic towers, with podium buildings and streetscapes designed in a classic European architectural style. Dubai Pearl will include 1,490 residential units; inc. luxury tower apartments, penthouses, sky palaces, 1,449 offices; inc. tower offices, boutique offices, branded business centre, 7 branded 5-star hotels, inc. Baccarat, Bellagio, MGM Grand Hotels, Skylofts with further boutique hotels, spa and recreation facilities, conference and banqueting, retail inc. a new retail district for the region with shopping mall, fashion boulevard, entertainment district and over 60 restaurants, cafes and bars and leisure facilities inc. luxury 1,800 seat theatre, state of the art cinemas, wellness and sports centre, beach club, pedestrian walkways and nightlife destinations. Over half of the total area of the site will be open space, with significant landscaping. The total built up area will comprise 20 million sq ft and will create a new hub for the metropolis while the total ground floor area of the site is 10 million sq ft. The development will have the capacity to provide residences for 9,000 people the expected and the total working population the Dubai Pearl will be designed to support is 12,000 people. Ground works have been completed, which included the excavation work for the four towers and the levelling of the site. Piling Works for all four towers completed. Water proofing for rafts of all towers completed. Tower 1 Raft Pour completed on 27th August 2009, Tower 2 Raft Pour completed on 1st October 2009, Tower 3 Raft Pour completed on 10th September 2009 and Tower 4 Raft Pour completed on 12th November 2009. Construction of superstructure has commenced. The development will be delivered over three phases with the final phase expected to be concluded in 2013 | |
