Ras Al Khaimah-based developer Al Hamra has praised progress made last year at its recently expanded Manar Mall development.

Ras Al Khaimah-based developer Al Hamra has praised “key milestones” achieved in 2018 at its newly expanded Manar Mall, which has seen a doubling in size of gross leasable area.

Marquee signings for the development last year, the developer said in a statement, included Landmark Group’s Ecco, Steve Madden, Carpisa, Koton and Pablosky stores. Landmark's leisure division also opened Tridom at the mall. Tridom has been described as the first indoor adventure park of its kind in the Northern Emirates, featuring the tallest indoor drop tower in the Middle East.

Last year also saw home improvement and lifestyle store, Al-Futtaim ACE, choose the mall as the location for its first store in the Northern Emirates, whilst Al Khayyat Investments, a Dubai-based holding company representing several leading international brands, chose Manar Mall to open Ras Al Khaimah's first Superdry store.

The mall, which recently saw an $100m (AED367m) investment by Al Hamra, is already home to renowned international brands such as Carrefour, Marks & Spencer, H&M, Sephora, Next, Mothercare, Boots Pharmacy, Bath & Body Works, McDonald’s and KFC, together with some of the UAE’s most iconic homegrown retail brands.

Following its extension, the mall has seen its gross leasable area increase from 2.7ha to 5.5ha.

Speaking on the various new additions, Benoy Kurien, Al Hamra’s chief executive officer, said: “These are exciting times for Manar Mall, Al Hamra, and for Ras Al Khaimah. The tourism, hospitality, and entertainment industries are growing incredibly quickly, and we’re delighted to play our role in attracting an even greater number of visitors on an annual basis.”

Al Hamra said the mall’s “unique waterfront promenade”, slated for completion in the summer of 2019, will "round out" activity at the development. It will boast a cinema on water, a range of food trucks, light shows, paddle boats, and a play area for kids, including water fountains, swings, and trampolines.
