UAE's mixed-use Ajman Square set for 2019 launch
Early 2019 launch planned for community project that includes resident- and visitor-focused amenities
Ajman Square, a mixed-use community, is set to be launched soon in the UAE emirate, with authorities stating the project’s launch “at the start of 2019” will boost Ajman, which is “confidently developing into a city of tourism”.
Project director, Ismail Al Hosny, said Ajman Square is the result of the Engineering Retreat of the Infrastructure Development Sector, an event held in 2016 during which various initiatives were recommended to present a new vision of Ajman and benefit its residents and visitors.
Ajman Square includes numerous cafés and restaurants, in addition to walking tracks and open-air seating areas. Director general of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, said the development highlights Ajman’s “unique identity”, and aims to improve the environment for people living in Ajman.
The square is the first of the infrastructure development sector’s recommended projects that will be launched in Ajman, and it will be followed by murals and sculpture projects. Also recommended by the infra sector was Ajman Pulse, a development that includes “a range of projects” to highlight Ajman’s scenery and provide community services, according to Wam.
