UAE's AW Rostamani to bring 458-room Hilton hotel to Bur Dubai
Double Tree by Hilton Dubai Al Mankhool will join the 11 UAE hotels currently operating or in the pipeline for Hilton
Global hotel operator Hilton has inked a management agreement with UAE firm AW Rostamani Group to develop a 458-room in Bur Dubai, commonly referred to as the city’s ‘Old Town’.
Hilton said the Double Tree by Hilton Dubai Al Mankhool will join the 11 hotels currently operating or in the pipeline for the brand in the UAE, and represented the family-owned AW Rostamani Group’s entry into the hospitality industry.
Expected to open in 2020, it will be part of a mixed-use development that Hilton said is already under construction. The hotel will be located between attractions such as Dubai Museum, Al Fahidi Fort, Dubai Creek, and the range of souqs that characterise the historic Bur Dubai area.
Housing five food and beverage outlets, two outdoor pools, and fitness and business centers on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, the 458-key facility is close to two metro stations and the Burjuman shopping centre.
“Since we introduced Double Tree by Hilton to the UAE four years ago, the brand has been a real success story and is now one of the fastest growing in the market,” said Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s vice president of development for Middle East and North Africa.
Khalid Abdul Wahid Al Rostamani, chairman of AW Rostamani Group, said the planned hotel “represents the expansion of the AWR Properties portfolio, whilst also supporting the leadership’s Dubai Plan 2021 vision to establish Dubai as the preferred place to live, work, and visit”.
The latest agreement comes after a somewhat busy 2018 for Hilton in the region. In August, UAE-based business conglomerate Al Habtoor Group announced a franchise agreement with Hilton for all its hotels at Dubai development Al Habtoor City.
