India's Firstcry to open ops centre at Dubai South's Logistics District
Facility to open at 920,000m2 e-commerce zone EZ Dubai in Dubai South, located close to Al Maktoum International Airport
An operations facility for what is touted as India’s largest children’s retailer Firstcry will be launched at Dubai South Logistics District’s e-commerce zone Ez Dubai in three months, alongside a fulfilment centre to allow the firm to make faster deliveries across the UAE.
EZ Dubai is a 920,000m2 e-commerce zone launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and is expected to attract global e-commerce companies to the facility.
Firstcry said the facility's proximity to Al Maktoum International Airport would help it better manage shipments coming from overseas.
Commenting on the project, Dubai South’s Logistics District chief executive officer, Mohsen Ahmad, said: “India’s largest online retailer for children’s apparel, Firstcry is strategically positioned to cater to many consumers in the UAE and the Middle East looking to widen their choices in this segment.”
