Bahrain's West Riffa school to reportedly get $2.1m extension

The development has been tendered by Zaedon Building Construction and work will be conducted for 18 months

Bahrain’s Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning has reportedly started constructing an extension to the West Riffa Intermediate Girls School, worth $2.1m.

According to the Bahrain news agency, the development will be completed by Zaedon Building Construction within 18 months, with the extension involving the creation of an additional academic building.

The building will be built on an area of 2,238m² with three floors that contain 16 classes in total, in addition to service facilities.

Bahrain’s construction project director for the ministry, Mariam Abdulla Ameen, reportedly said design work for the school was completed and the move will provide education to as many students as possible along with having the school closer to their residences.
