UAE’s SZHP okays 609 housing assistance requests worth $136m
Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme's Bateen Al Samar project is 40% complete and will be handed in Q4 2020
Under the implementation of the directives of President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (SZHP) has approved 609 housing assistance applications at a value of $136m (AED500m) for Emirati citizens in the UAE.
The programme has been monitored by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
According to UAE’s state-held news agency Wam, approval for the housing assistance was announced at a meeting chaired by the country’s Minister of Infrastructure Development and chairman of the SZHP, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi.
Al Nuaimi stressed that the UAE government aims to provide better living standards to Emirati citizens through the programme; the approval came ahead of Eid Al Adha.
Construction of Bateen Al Samar, which is being developed in line with SZHP, has noted 40% completion and its 888 units will be delivered in Q4 2020.
Since the beginning of 2019, SZHP has approved 2,336 housing assistance applications worth $490m (AED1.8bn) for Emirati families.
