Eid Al-Adha 2019: Free parking announced in Dubai, Sharjah
UAE's public and private sectors will enjoy a four-day holiday from 10 to 13 August, 2019 following Eid Al-Adha
Car owners and motorists across the emirates of Dubai and Sharjah will enjoy free parking during the four-day holiday for this year’s Eid Al-Adha.
Earlier this week, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said: “All paid parking zones, except for multi-level parking terminals, will be free to use from (9 to 12 Dhu al-Hijjah 1440H) (10-13 August, 2019)."
“Fees will be reinstated as of the following day,” the RTA added.
In a statement posted on its Instagram account, the Sharjah Municipality said: “All public parking lots in the city will be free during Eid Al-Adha holidays from 11 to 13 August, 2019, excluding certain public parking zones that remain paid during all days of the week and in official holidays.”
According to the announcement, all public parking areas will be paid on the day of Arafat which falls on Saturday, 10 August, 2019.
It said: “Parking inspectors will continue their duties to detect any parking violations.”
The municipality said that paid parking zones during the holidays include: Al Hisn Street (bank complex); both sides of Corniche Street; Qays Ibn Abi Sa’sa’ah Street covering bird market; Central Souq; Corniche Street (Khalid Lagoon side); and University City Road.
According to the country’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), UAE’s public and private sector employees will enjoy a four-day holiday for Eid Al-Adha 2019, which was announced in July 2019.
