Aurecon has become one of the first organisations globally to achieve the BSI Kitemark certification for Building Information Modelling (BIM) in design for new international standards.

The firm said the British Standards Institution (BSI) Kitemark certification is the "international benchmark" for excellence in digital engineering and project delivery.

The new standards provide recommendations for the organisation of information about design and engineering works using BIM.

To achieve the Kitemark certification, Aurecon went through an onsite audit by BSI to assess the delivery of projects to contract requirements, measurement and monitoring of client satisfaction, and the management of the supply chain.

Aurecon’s digital leader for infrastructure, Will Hackney, led the company’s certification process.

“Today’s problems require us to come up with tomorrow’s digital solutions so this certification won’t just stop here,” said Hackney.

“It’s a key part of our journey to transform the way we engineer, design and advise so that our clients and the communities they work in have absolute confidence that the infrastructure they build and use is future-proofed.”
